Southampton boss Alan Pardew paid tribute to Portsmouth goalkeeper David James after yesterday's FA Cup defeat at St Mary's.
Pardew had no doubt about James's contribution to Pompey's cup triumph.
He said: "David was magnificent. If we had gone in at the break with a thoroughly deserved lead I think the game's outcome would have been completely different.
"But James pulled off two world class saves and was at it again just a minute after the break when we should have opened the scoring.
"When you are up against someone of his class it's always going to be difficult."
