Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has taken a swipe at Ajax and their youth development reputation.
Koeman feels the claims of Ajax's development expertise is exaggerated.
"Jordy Clasie was a player with Feyenoord since he was seven years old - that's what I call training a player," declared Koeman to Tele Sport.
"Do not mention names like Christian Eriksen and Lucas Andersen. These players had much of their foundation in place when they went to Ajax.
"Everyone says to me that A1 Ajax (Ajax's youth teams) are so strong, but Ajax is also constantly in the market for the best foreign players who by the age of 16 years they can buy."
