Southampton boss Koeman has fingers crossed for Europa League chance

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is still hoping his club can sneak into the Europa League.

The Saints finished seventh on the Premier League table in 2014/15 and will book their spot in Europe's second tier competition if Arsenal defeat Aston Villa in the FA Cup final at Wembley next weekend.

Koeman took the reins at St Mary's last summer and was full of praise for his squad for producing such a great result after losing a number of key players prior to the campaign.

"If we get that chance to play in Europe, I would like that. It means a lot for the club and a lot for the players, the Dutchman said.

"It was an amazing season. We did a great job. The players showed their qualities and the spirit was amazing.

"We had a difficult pre-season but we showed our qualities and have always tried to play attractive, offensive football. If you finish seventh, that is our title, behind the big six."
