Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has spoken of his admiration for Stoke City rival Mark Hughes.
Both managers are former Barcelona players.
Ahead of their Capital One Cup tie, Koeman said: "Mark was a great player and he always had a great attitude on the pitch, always hard working.
"Now when you look at Stoke they are a very hard working team and it is difficult to beat them. They are a tough opponent.
"Cup football is always different but we know what we have to do to win against them. In football you know everything from each other and there are no surprises.
"We spoke to the players and prepared ourselves in the best way because we like to win something.
"What I did in the first two or three games of the League Cup was change a maximum of three positions.
"We don't have that quality to change eight or nine positions because the group is not big like in the big teams.
"I don't like that. I like rotation but I don't like to change everybody."
