Southampton boss Koeman excited by Mane potential

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is delighted to have Sadio Mane again available.

Senegalese flier Mane has scored four goals in his last five games for third-placed Saints either side of playing in the African Nations Cup.

Koeman said: "After a good start, he had some difficulties but before he was injured and went to the Africa Cup of Nations he was doing well.

"He was scoring important goals, not the third or the fourth but the first goal. It's good to have that kind of player.

"He scored against Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Arsenal and he came back with a lot of spirit and a lot of freshness. It's good to have that kind of player.

"Players from outside England need time to adapt to the Premier League, to adapt to not having a winter break which they are used to.

"But it is always good to have fast people up front because it makes it difficult for opponents. He is a quality player."
