Southampton boss Koeman denies interest in Reading keeper Federici

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has stated that he is not interested in making a move for Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici.

The Saints were dealt a major blow when star gloveman Fraser Forster suffered a long-term injury in March which has ruled him out for at least six months.

While veteran Kelvin Davis is a more than capable replacement, it is widely expected Southampton will make a move for a new goalkeeper during the upcoming summer.

Recently, Royals number one Federici had been touted as a target for the south coast outfit but manager Koeman dismissed such claims by stating that he does not know who the Australian custodian is.

After being questioned regarding Federici, Komen replied: "Who?"

When told Federici played for Reading, the Dutchman added: "No, it's not true.

"But of course we've thought about the goalkeeping situation. We have to make a decision about what we want to do next season."
