Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has confirmed he hopes to sign Benfica midfielder Filip Djuricic.
The Serb is currently on-loan at Mainz.
"On principle we are looking for a player that can play in different positions," Koeman said.
"Okay, we have our interest in Djuricic and he can play one of the positions in midfield, he can play on the left in a wing position in a free role, he can play in the right-wing position in a free role.
"That is the best - to bring in a player who can play in different positions."
