Ronald Koeman is confident Southampton will be able to retain its key players ahead of the coming English Premier League season and avoid a repeat of last summer's mass exodus.

The likes of Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw all departed St Mary's Stadium at the conclusion of the 2013/14 season, but Koeman is unyielding in his belief that history will not repeat itself this year.

"We have the experience from last season - it will be not the same this season, but we are prepared for everything," Koeman said.

The likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Nathaniel Clyne are set to leave the south coast this summer.
