Southampton boss content with Liverpool draw

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has stated that he is satisfied with his side's 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

Southampton played out a tightly fought encounter against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday and despite going down in the 77th minute, the Saints mustered up an equalizer late on through Sadio Mane to earn a valuable point.

Following the game, Koeman admitted that his side did not play to their best on the night but was left content with the final result.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Koeman said: “I don't think we played to the level we normally do. It was not good enough to win today, but if you are 1-0 down with 13 minutes to go and you take a point you can be very happy. "It wasn't the performance we wanted but we showed good mentality and spirit. It was a fair result."
