Southampton boss Nigel Adkins refuses to go route one, despite their struggles.
Adkins is coming under increasing pressure after a 4-1 defeat by West Ham made it 24 goals conceded in eight matches.
"There's a brand of football the club wants to play, but you've got to win," said Adkins, who is second-favourite with bookmakers to become this season's first top-flight sacking. "We want to pass the football quickly and calmly. We've done that consistently over the last two seasons and scored a lot of goals.
"At this level we're getting found out and conceding far too many which, ultimately, is losing us games."
