Southampton boss Nigel Adkins says Kelvin Davis will be up for their clash against his old club Sunderland.
Davis was dubbed 'Calamity Kelvin' by Black Cats followers after shipping 69 Premier League goals during his only season on Wearside seven years ago.
The veteran stopper, 36, faces his former employers in the top flight for the first time in what will be his 600th league appearance.
Saints boss Adkins said: "Kelvin played the last game and came in and did very well, kept a clean sheet and put in a good performance.
"He is very popular here at St Mary's. He has been a stalwart and a major influence on all we have achieved in the last three years.
"I know he is well-liked by the Saints fans. We are at home and, if selected, I am sure Kelvin will deal with the situation and any flak that comes his way with maturity."
