Southampton boss George Burley has hit out at south-coast rivals Portsmouth for publicly declaring their interest in Nathan Dyer.
Pompey assistant-manager Tony Adams recently admitted he had been monitoring Saints' young winger for some time.
Dyer has been in fine form for Southampton in the Championship this season but is out of contract in the summer, and the Saints boss is unhappy at Adams' comments.
"I don't think other people should be talking about players from other clubs like that," Burley told the Daily Echo.
"Speculation is part of being a footballer when you're doing well, as Nathan is doing, but unfortunately that's the way some people do it these days."
