South Melbourne captain Tavsancioglu joins North Queensland Fury

The captain of Victorian Premier League club South Melbourne, Ramazan Tavsancioglu, has joined A-League outfit North Queensland Fury as an injury replacement player.

The 26-year old defender, who had a short stint with Melbourne Victory in 2006, will come into the Fury squad next week as cover for the injured Eric Akoto and Chris Grossman.

Tavsancioglu, who made one appearance for Turkish club Ankaragucu back in 2003, says he will take his A-League opportunity with both hands.

"There is a lot of games obviously till Boxing Day I believe it is, or the 27th (till the deal runs out), so I'm just going to go out there and take it week by week, play as much as I can and do the best I can for the Fury and hopefully get the results," he said.

"All I can do go out there and do what I do best, show that I have got the qualities and the experience and things they need for a player like myself to be playing for the Fury.

"So hopefully if it does turn out to be longer term I'll take it with both hands again."
