South Korean pair Ji and Ki draw blank as Sunderland lose to Villa

Ji Dong-won made just his second start of the Premier League season as Sunderland lost 1-0 to Aston Villa on Wednesday.

The 22-year old South Korean striker played 67 minutes at the Stadium of Light but was unable to breach the stingy Villa defence as the Black Cats remained at the foot of the table.

It was the former Augsburg loanee's first start since the end of August and just his fifth league appearance for the Wearside club this season.

Ji's Taeguk Warriors teammate Ki Sung-yueng, on loan from Swansea City, put in a full 90-minute shift but was booked in the 64th minute.
