Korea Republic captain Koo Ja-cheol applauded the Koreans' performance in London Olympics after they defeated Japan 2-0 to win their first-ever Olympics medal in the third-place play-off match held at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. "Today we made history and showed that Asian football is becoming increasingly strong in the international game," Koo Ja-cheol was quoted by FIFA.com.
"As I'm playing in Europe now, I took the opportunity to tell the team here at London 2012 that we have no reason to fear the European sides. That's partly why we played so confidently."
Cheol also praised Japan and congratulated the East Asian country for their performance in the campaign.
"In my opinion, both South Korean and Japanese football will get stronger in the future and that will go a long way to help develop the game in Asia." The game is about opinions. Make yours heard! Join the tribalfootball.com nation on Facebook today: Facebook.com/tribalfootball
