South Korea's Ki to be rested by Celtic

Ki Sung-yueng will be rested by Celtic for this weekend's league clash with Aberdeen.

The 23-year old midfielder will represent South Korea in their final match of the third round of 2014 World Cup qualifying at home against Kuwait on Wednesday and will not play for the Hoops on Saturday because of a heavy travel schedule.

Ki was admitted to hospital because of dizziness and constant headaches last time he returned to South Korea but this time he is hoping he can avoid getting ill as he looks to help the Taeguk Warriors avoid defeat so they can progress to the fourth round of qualifying.

"It is not easy to travel back to my country as there is the time difference," he said.

"Hopefully I will not be sick again. I'll miss the Aberdeen game but I will be back next Monday."
