South Korea boss Hong Myung-bo wants Yun Suk-young in his pre-World Cup training camp as soon as possible.
The 24-year old QPR left-back is preparing for the Championship promotion playoff final against Derby County on May 24 which has restricted him from travelling to Paju to link up with his Taeguk Warriors teammates.
Hong assembled his 23-man squad for Brazil this week but Yun was missing as he strives to help the R's navigate their way back to the English Premier League much to the dismay of the Korean manager.
"If Yun reports to the camp late, then it could set a bad precedent," Hong told Yonhap news agency.
"There's no shift to our stance that Yun must be here at the earliest date possible."
QPR beat Wigan Athletic 2-1 in extra-time in the playoff semi-final second leg at Loftus Road with Yun replacing Clint Hill in the 50th minute.
