South Korea held by Peru in friendly

South Korea have been held to a 0-0 draw by Peru in a friendly in Suwon.

Hong Myung-bo's side were the better of the two teams in the midweek fixture but could not put the score on the board against a Peruvian team who had most of their European stars.

Hong put together a squad made up entirely of players from the local K-League and Japan's J.League and they did the job against the likes of Claudio Pizarro (Bayern Munich), Jefferson Farfan (Schalke) and Carlos Zambrano (Eintracht Frankfurt).

Despite the positive performance, the Taeguk Warriors have now failed to win in four matches since Hong took over from Choi Kang-hee in June.
