South Africa's Royal Thanda Zulu welcomed by Man City

Representatives from South Africa's Royal Thanda Zulu are in England for talks with Manchester City about strengthening their collaboration agreement.

Thanda head coach Roger Palmgren, assistant Johann Eriksson and club chairman Johann Glennmo are visiting the Carrington training ground and the Platt Lane Academy complex to watch training sessions and to talk to City staff about their methods and approach.

Manchester City's chief executive Alistair Mackintosh told the club's website: "In recent years our Academy has been extremely successful, producing players including current first team regulars Michael Johnson, Nedum Onuoha, Stephen Ireland and England international Micah Richards.

"We are proud of our partnership with Thanda Royal Zulu FC and are delighted that Roger and Johan have accepted the invitation to spend time with our Academy and first team coaching staff here in Manchester. They will have the opportunity to see the day to day running of the Academy and extensive access to the club's coaching and support staff who are keen to pass on their knowledge and expertise."
