South Africa stars pull pin on Australia, NZ friendlies

The South Africa national team has seen a number of key players pull out of an upcoming tour to Australia and New Zealand.

Reports suggest that Bafana Bafana players have opted out of the trip down under later this month which has left manager Gordon Igesund scratching his head.

It is believed that Crystal Palace midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi and FC Rostov defender Siyanda Xulu, as well as players from top South African clubs Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, have withdrawn from the squad.

"I can't give any details right now," Igesund told iol.co.za on Monday.

"We are trying to solve the problem and we'll be in a position to give details of the situation at a media conference at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday morning."

South Africa takes on Australia in Sydney on May 26, which is the Socceroos' final game before jetting off to Brazil for the World Cup, prior to the meeting with the All Whites in Auckland on May 30.
