South Africa boss Parreira angry with refereeing performance in Uruguay loss

South Africa boss Carlos Alberto Parreira was irate following his side's 3-0 loss to Uruguay.

The Brazilian tactician was extremely disappointed by the performance of referee Massimo Busacca who awarded a penalty and sent goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune off for his challenge on Luis Suarez which did not appear too bad.

Parreira admitted he hadn't seen the incident properly but did say he believed it was the poorest performance by a referee in the 2010 World Cup thus far.

"I haven't seen it properly because there were some players in the way, (but) the players are really annoyed, very angry and very disappointed in the referee," he said.

"Myself and everyone else said it was the worst referring performance in this competition so far.

"He was very unfair against our team from the very beginning, the way he acted against our team.

"He was giving fouls that weren't fouls, giving yellows that weren't yelllows and then he left the ground with a smile on his face.

"I hope we don't see his face again in this tournament because he doesn't deserve to be here."
