The last time Manchester City visited Old Trafford they won 6-1.
And Souness told Absolute Radio: "Oh there’s no doubt that Man United will want to win that, when you’re a big team like what Man United are for them to have been on the receiving end at home last year, losing 6 -1 that will have hurt them, that will still be in their minds. And the players can turn round and say “it doesn’t matter, that’s gone,” and the manager can turn round and say “It doesn’t matter, that’s gone,” but it DOES matter, you don’t want to lose 6 – 1, a, to your City rivals and to the team that ended up winning the league. So they will have a point to prove regardless of what noises they make before the game, they will be looking to put a marker down."
Souness was talking to Ian Wright of Absolute Radio Rock n' Roll Football. Every Saturday from 5pm on 1215AM. For more, visit absoluteradio.co.uk/football.
