Souness: Arsenal would be doing better if Emery...

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has questioned the playing system of Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

Souness feels Arsenal would've been comfortable in victory at Cardiff City if they had ditched Emery's insistence upon playing out from the back.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Souness said: "For Arsenal, the problems that they had today were self-inflicted in the early part of the game, trying to roll it out.

"In the early part of the game, everyone is bang at it, fully motivated, looking to impose themselves on the opposition.

"I just think in the early part of the game, which hasn't changed that much from when we were playing, we would try and run the opposition in the first 15, make the pitch big, then you can start to roll it out. To start rolling it out in the first five or 10 minutes, everyone is on you."
