Sochaux are keen to take Mame Biram Diouf on-loan from Manchester United.

The News of the World says the Senegalese hitman is due to join United from Molde in January but Sir Alex Ferguson may farm him straight out as it's unlikely he'll be in contention for an immediate first-team spot.

Sochaux have been hit by the lengthy absence of American attacker Charlie Davies and will ask Ferguson to consider sending Diouf to them on loan until the end of the season.

Francois Gillot's club currently lie 15th in the Ligue 1 table and the African ace's potential arrival could help fire them up the placings.
