Stoke keeper Thomas Sorensen has rubbished reports suggesting he wants to leave the club, claiming he can fulfil his European ambitions with the Potters. The 33-year-old Denmark international believes he can fulfil his goals with his current side.
"I was asked in an interview about my ambitions for playing elsewhere and I told him 'no'. I said I was really happy here," he said in The Sentinel.
"I gave an example of that by telling him that someone had contacted me not long ago about a big club in Europe (not Bayern Munich as widely reported) that could be interested in me, but I said no. I told him that story to confirm I was happy at Stoke.
"Yes, at some stage I would love to play in Europe. I've played at the highest level with the national team and so playing in Europe would be an ambition.
"At some stage I would love to do that, but hopefully that can be with Stoke."
A recent Opta Index table has ranked Sorensen as the third best goalkeeper in the world behind Manchester United's Edwin van der Sar and Real Madrid's Iker Casillas.
"That is all very nice, but there's definitely no plans to leave," he added.
