Sorensen accepts huge battle to win back Stoke place from Begovic

Thomas Sorensen accepts he faces a battle to win back his Stoke City place from current No1 goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The Dane has started nine games this season, conceding 13 goals and keeping one clean sheet.

His last appearance was in City's 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United on October 24.

"The most important thing for me is that I am feeling fit again," the 34-year-old told The Sentinel.

"The next thing is for me to get back into the first team, so what I need to do is to keep working hard and get my head down in training.

"I didn't lose my place as a result of form.

"But injuries happen in football and what you need to do is get back up.

"I'll make sure I'll work my socks off and hope that there is another chance in the first-team around the corner soon."
