Sonko: Stoke go to Liverpool with great self-belief

Ibrahima Sonko says Stoke City are convinced of upsetting high-flying Liverpool at Anfield.

"It will be easy to get motivated. But you need to control your emotions when you get there and make sure you are effective and not just excited," he told The Sentinel.

"We have to go there with self belief. They are bigger players, so we won't be over-confident, but we have to be confident enough to say 'I am going to trouble them today'. I am sure we can do something."

On his Stoke debut against Everton, Sonko added: "I enjoyed my first home game and, I have to say, the fans were unbelievable.

"It has been a long time since I had a home crowd which supported the team so much.

"I was amazed by that. We have to have self belief, but you can also be carried sometimes by people around you who also believe. It is always nice to have that kind of support."
