Song out but Fabregas a chance as Arsenal prepare for Barcelona

Arsenal midfielder Alex Song has been ruled out of tomorrow night's Champions League with Barcelona with a knee injury.

The Cameroon international has not played since the Carling Cup final loss to Birmingham City last Sunday and has been forced out of the Round of 16 return leg with Barca in what is a slight blow for the North Londoners.

"Alex Song is completely out. He had a test on Sunday morning and it was negative," said Wenger.

But in better news for Gunners fans, skipper Cesc Fabregas will be given until the death to get himself right for the vital fixture, undergoing a test today before more than likely making the trip with the rest of the squad.

"It is 90% he will travel and be fit. It is vital for us because he is important in the transition between attacking and defending. He is also the leader of the team so we want him there," he added.

Also under an injury cloud is young gun Jack Wilshere but Wenger confirmed that he would take his place.

"Wilshere will be fit. Everybody else who played on Saturday should be available," he said further.
