Son opens Bayer Leverkusen account in big cup victory

Heung-Min Son scored his first goal in a competitive match for new club Bayer Leverkusen on the weekend.

The South Korean striker netted in the 63rd minute of Bayer's 6-1 thrashing of Lippstadt 08 in the first round of the DFP Pokal (German Cup).

Son, who joined Bayer from Hamburg earlier in the summer transfer window, came on at half-time before hitting the back of the net to make it 4-1 after goals from Lars Bender, Lippstadt's Benjamin Kolodzig, Sidney Sam and Stefan Kiessling before the latter two added to the scoreline in the final ten minutes.
