Son of Liverpool owner Hicks in hot water

The son of Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has landed himself in hot water.

The Daily Mail says a member of the Hicks' team of bodyguards was charged with assault after police were called to a Liverpool hotel in the early hours of Sunday, following reports of alcohol and cutlery being hurled out of a window.

It is understood a security guard from the A Hard Day's Night Hotel responded to claims of a room service tray being thrown on to the street below and sustained injuries in an ensuing altercation.

The 5am flare-up was said to revolve around Alex Hicks and his friends, who were staying at the hotel after watching Liverpool's 2-1 win over Manchester United.

Merseyside Police confirmed they had arrested a man and charged him with assault. Paul Pratt, 40, was bailed to appear before the city's magistrates on September 30.

A spokesman for the hotel said: "There was an altercation during which a security guard working for us sustained injuries.

"It involved a party of Alex Hicks, although the offence did not involve Mr Hicks."

Another of Hicks' sons, Tom Jnr, was forced to leave the Sandon pub near Liverpool's ground in February after having a pint of beer thrown at him by fans.
