Son can't wait to be back in action with Leverkusen

Son Heung-min admits he has missed playing competitive football with Bayer Leverkusen over the winter break.

The South Korean striker has been away with his die Werkself teammates in Lagos, Portugal for the midseason training camp but after returning to Leverkusen, is chomping at the bit for the Bundesliga season to return.

Second-placed Leverkusen are back in action against Freiburg on January 25 and Son is looking to add to his goal tally of seven in 14 league appearances since joining in the summer from Hamburg.

"Seven's not too bad so far and obviously I'm aiming to score a few more. But the most important thing is for the team to get off to a good start again and make sure we're there from the word go in our first game at Freiburg," he told BAYER 04-TV.

"A few more training sessions and then we're off again in the Bundesliga," he added.

"We've had two weeks holiday and I really missed playing football. I can't wait to get started again."
