Solskjaer: We appreciate Cardiff owner Tan

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan was present in London to speak to the squad ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting with Tottenham.

The Malaysian businessman spoke to the Bluebirds players in their London hotel on Saturday night, the first time he has addressed them since Solskjaer took the reins in January, and the Norwegian admitted it was appreciated.

Tan's relationship with the Cardiff fans has had a fissure in it for much of the season but Solskjaer feels he is doing what he can to try and help the club survive in the top flight.

"I saw him last night, and he gave some encouraging words to the players and myself," said Solskjaer after the 1-0 defeat at White Hart Lane.

"He's committed and supportive.

"It's the first time since I've been here, I think it was a good time.

"They were pleased to see he came. We all appreciated it."

The former Manchester United striker added: "We're all sticking in it together, that's the key.

"If you're going to get out of this, it's not one performance, it's a 10-game run.

"It's a 10-game season now. This run-in, it needs every single one of us."

The loss left Cardiff sitting second bottom on the league table on 22 points, one ahead of Fulham, and two behind third-bottom Sunderland.
