Solskjaer taking Man Utd squad to Dublin for Platinum One Challenge

Manchester United reserves coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is taking his squad to Dublin for the Platinum One Challenge.

The tournament, which kicks off on Sunday 15 August, will feature Ireland's premier football club, Shamrock Rovers FC, as well as Reserves squads from Arsenal and Manchester United.

Reserves boss Solskjaer said the mini tournament will lend a vital competitive element to the early stage of the season.

He told manutd.com: "Our current first-team contains many players who have come through the ranks and some of the talent on show in Dublin will hopefully be in Sir Alex's mind in the near future. For these players to get additional competitive action early in the season is welcome."
