Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed the club was keen on former Molde midfielder Mats Daehli before his arrival.
Solskjaer revealed Cardiff had watched Daehli last season when he was still in charge of Molde.
He said: "All the scouting reports say sign Mats Daehli. Obviously I knew they had gone in for him. They scouted him before."
Daehli added: "I left (Manchester United) for a number of reasons. I wanted to play for this manager and he said he wanted to take me here and I am very happy to sign."
