Nobby Solano is being lined up for a sensational return to Newcastle United.

The Daily Mail says Solano is set to make a sensational second return to Newcastle United after training with Chris Hughton's side for the last three days.

The former Peru international, who has had two previous spells at the Tyneside club, is hoping to secure a contract with the Championship leaders after quitting Colchester United last week.

The 35-year-old winger played for Newcastle for eight years from 1998, after he was signed by Kenny Dalglish, and returned under Sir Bobby Robson five years ago for a two-year spell.
