Reading midfielder Mikele Leigertwood feels the club need to get rid of the stupid mistakes that allow other teams in if they want to climb the championship table.
The Royals hit the front against league leaders Southampton through the Antigua & Barbuda international at Madejski Stadium on Saturday before conceding to Steve de Ridder with 10 minutes remaining.
Leigertwood was not happy with how the goal came about and feels something must be done to erase these types of errors as the 15th-placed Royals are playing some quality football.
"We've been playing well recently, have played teams at the top of the league and made them look average in certain parts," he told the Reading Post.
"We're pleased with our performance and hopefully we can pick up three points next time out.
"It's frustrating and we have to address conceding another sloppy goal.
"When we're on top of our game we know we're a match for anyone. We have to stay confident."
