Sochaux's Davies only a month away from training

Car accident victim Charlie Davies is set to make a remarkable recovery with news he is set to resume training within a month.

The Sochaux forward and USA international has been in rehabilitation after a car accident on October 13 left him with a broken right leg, a broken and dislocated elbow, a broken nose, forehead and eye socket, a fracture in his face plus a ruptured bladder and bleeding on his brain but he is coming along well and has confirmed he plans to be back before the end of the French Ligue 1 season.

"I've come a long way," he said during in a video on Sochaux's official website. "I'd say I'm probably a month away from being able to train with the team regularly, and then I need a little more time to be able to get match-fit again. So, you know, I'd say I'm not too far away from being able to play again.

"I need to get my body back into shape as far as being fit and being able to run again without being so tired," he added.

Davies will begin strength training soon and is determined to get back on the pitch before the end of May.
