Sochaux are in contact with Newcastle United for Sylvain Marveaux.
The Frenchman is working his way back from injury, but has struggled to convince manager Alan Pardew he warrants a regular start when fit.
Sochaux are hoping to take Marveaux back to France in January on a six-month loan.
