French club Sochaux have ended their pursuit of Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu.
The USA international has been the subject of two failed bids from the Montbeliard outfit who have now decided to cease their chase after bringing in Thierry Doubai on loan from Udinese.
"Our first option was for Edu to come here. But we made two offers to Rangers and they said it wasn't enough.
"We could not get a solution. I think the offer we made was the correct amount. I spoke to our president and he told us our interest in Edu is finished.""We had two or three options but we signed Thierry Doubai. We are very happy to have Doubai," said Sochaux assistant Stephane Gilli last week.
