Socceroos learning curve will benefit Celtic's Rogic

Tom Rogic is expecting his time with the Australian national team to assist his club development greatly.

The 20-year old Celtic midfielder is with the Socceroos as they prepare for Tuesday night's World Cup qualifier with Iraq which could allow them to automatically book a ticket to the finals in Brazil next year.

Rogic impressed in a short cameo in last week's 4-0 win over Jordan in Melbourne and although he knows he won't start in Sydney, he says the experience of being alongside the senior Aussie stars will allow him to flourish.

"No, I don't think I'll start. The way the squad's been going and our past two results, we've had two great performances - a point in Japan and a win in Melbourne," said Rogic.

"If we can carry that on to Tuesday, we'll be in good stead."

He added: "It's different to playing for Celtic as you have more time on the ball but if you make a mistake you're punished.

"It's been a good learning curve for me and I'm enjoying every moment."
