Socceroos defender Thwaite pens new Perth Glory deal

Michael Thwaite has signed a new contract with A-League club Perth Glory.

The 30-year old centre-back has signed on for a further two years which will see him stay in Western Australia until at least the end of the 2015/16 season.

The former National Bucharest, Wisla Krakow, SK Brann, Melbourne Victory and Gold Coast United man was delighted to commit himself to the Glory cause.

"I consider myself very lucky to sign another two years at probably the most traditional clubs in the A-League, so it's an honour to extend my stay here," he said.

"It's pretty much business as usual for myself. My family obviously enjoys the Perth lifestyle which is a big part of any footballers' career, but on the pitch it's business as usual.

"This is a heritage club. This is probably the most traditional club in the A-League and we should be proud of that."
