Socceroos to be without Everton's Cahill, Fulham's Schwarzer for Malaysia, Oman games

The Australian national team will be without star players Tim Cahill and Mark Schwarzer for this weekend's international friendly with Malaysia and next week's World Cup qualifier against Oman.

The Socceroos meet the Malaysian side in Canberra on Friday before their third Asian qualifier against the Omanis in Sydney on Tuesday but the Premier League pair will not be available due to injuries sustained on the weekend.

Cahill suffered a leg injury in the September 24 loss to Manchester City before aggravating it in the Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool on Saturday whilst Schwarzer injured his back in Fulham's massive 6-0 win over West London rivals QPR yesterday.

Socceroos boss Holger Osieck has brought in Sonderjyske goalkeeper Nathan Coe to cover Schwarzer but Cahill's absence will not be covered.
