Sunderland and QPR have both been linked with former Everton and Australian midfielder Tim Cahill. But the Sunderland Echo understands that the Black Cats are unlikely to make a move for the Socceroo, who scored one of the stand-out goals of the World Cup against Holland.
Sunderland were keen on signing the 35 year old on loan in January 2013 as a stop-gap measure, only for the move to fall through.
