Aston Villa have been scared off a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

Villa held talks with Real about the Dutchman during their time in Spain for the Peace Cup.

But the Sunday Mercury says Sniejder's personal terms are believed to be astronomical.
