Wesley Sneijder is delighted with his decision to leave Real Madrid for Inter Milan in August.

"I knew that I was an important player, but everything was new to me here in Italy, a new team, a new way of playing. But it was the right choice for me and I am happy to play for Inter," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"Of course there is always the need to feel the confidence of those around you and in the final weeks at Madrid, I didn't have that anymore.

"Inter wanted me, the Coach wanted me and I know that with this team we can fight for many trophies together. That is why I chose Inter and I repeat I'm very happy to be here.

"Jose Mourinho always spoke highly of me, so I want to repay him for that faith."
