Former Espanyol and Watford manager Quique Sánchez Flores is favourite for the Spain job.

Fernando Hierro is expected to leave the post after Spain were dumped out of the World Cup by Russia yesterday.

Sanchez Flores is currently a free agent and immediately available to RFEF.

Former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is also being considered, as is Michel, the former Real Madrid captain.

New Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui was sacked by RFEF and replaced by Hierro just days before the World Cup kicked off.
