Smith thrilled with Tottenham breakthrough

Tottenham's 17 year-old fullback Adam Smith was delighted with his appearance against Borussia Dortmund last week.

Smith told the club's website: "Coming on and setting up a goal, I was absolutely buzzing. At first I was going to shoot, but then I saw Jamie screaming and thought I'd just slide it in, and luckily he scored.

"The gaffer just told me to go on and play my normal game, keep it simple. So I went on, did just that and tried to relax.

"You make your first touch, the nerves start to go, and after a while you find that you're playing your normal game.

"It's such a buzz for me to get a reception like that off the fans. I've been at this Club for 10 years now, and to finally be involved with the first team is unbelievable.

"I'm still in a little bit of shock that I was out with the first team, training with these quality players. It's great for me.

"I'm feeling like a better player for the experience and it will only help me in my career as I try to kick on."
