Smith prepared to play wide for Portsmouth

Former Watford striker Tommy Smith says he's prepared to play out-wide for Portsmouth.

Smith said: "I've been playing in different positions so I feel I am quite adaptable.

"I can play on the left or right of midfield, I can play up front and for the past year or so at Watford, I was playing as a second striker, which I've found really successful.

"That would probably be my preferred position and that's where I feel I have played my best football.

"Whether that's down to a combination of reaching my best age or simply playing in that particular position, I don't know.

"But I like to play a bit more centrally and be a lot more involved in the game."
