Shane Smeltz scored his first goal for Turkish club Genclerbirligi overnight. The New Zealand international converted a 45th minute penalty to give his side a narrow 1-0 win over Ankaragucu at the 19 Mayis Stadium.
Smeltz joined the club from Gold Coast United in August and his maiden goal enabled the club to move to ninth with their second win of the season.
