Shane Smeltz's move from Gold Coast United to Turkish club Genclerbirligi has been completed. The New Zealand international left A-League club Gold Coast to sign a two-year deal with the Turkish Super Lig outfit and he was delighted to move into the next phase of his career.
"I'm very proud and honoured to be at this club. It's a fantastic club with a fantastic set-up and I can't wait to get started with the team," Smeltz told Turkish media.
"I'm really happy to be here and I want to help this team produce the best football they can, and I think this club deserves to be doing well in this league."
28-year old Smeltz is a two-time A-League Golden Boot winner and has also scored 18 goals in 33 international appearances for the All Whites.
